Job Description

- An Azure Data Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data solutions using Microsoft Azure cloud services. This role involves working with stakeholders to understand data requirements, architecting scalable data pipelines, and implementing data integration, transformation, and storage solutions. Azure Data Engineers utilize a variety of Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks to build end-to-end data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. They also ensure the reliability, performance, security, and compliance of data solutions while staying updated with the latest Azure technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

- Analyze current business practices, processes, and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics Services.

- Provide technical leadership and thought leadership as a senior member of the team in areas such as data access & ingestion, data processing, data integration, data modelling.

- Collaborate with project managers for project/sprint planning by estimating technical tasks and deliverables.

- Develop best practices including reusable code, libraries, patterns, and consumable frameworks for cloud-based data warehousing and ETL.

- Maintain best practice standards for the development or cloud-based data warehouse solutioning including naming standards.

Critical Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- 5+ Years of total Experience in Data Engineering.

- 3+ years of Azure Data ecosystem Experience.

- Experience in designing and hands-on development in cloud-based analytics solutions.

- Design, develop, and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines using Apache Spark on the Azure Databricks platform.

- Expert level understanding on Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, and Azure App Service is required.

- Strong experience with SQL is required.

- Strong Python experience is required.

- Knowledge of Azure Dev-Ops processes (including CI/CD) and Infrastructure as code is essential.

- Thorough understanding of Azure Infrastructure offerings.

- Power BI is desirable.

- Strong customer engagement skills to understand customer needs for Analytics solutions fully.

- Strong data analysis and analytical skills.

- Have demonstrated the ability to guide the development of data requirements for projects and drive a user experience that is easy to use and delivers the right information at the right time.
