Construction Estimator Remote, Advanced English, US Projects

Family-owned construction company based in Florida (USA), with 15+ years of experience in general contracting, remodeling, plumbing, HVAC and roofing, is looking for a CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR to work 100% remotely from Colombia.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform quantity takeoffs from architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Prepare estimates and proposals for residential and commercial projects: remodels, additions, commercial build-outs and plumbing.
- Review plans, specifications and bid scopes, and prepare RFIs.
- Request and compare quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Keep the unit price database and service catalog up to date.
- Coordinate with the Florida team via video calls, chat and email, in English and Spanish.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced English (reading, writing and speaking). The interview will be conducted in English.
- At least 5 years of experience as an estimator, cost estimator or quantity surveyor.
- Experience with US construction projects or standards (imperial units, CSI MasterFormat, Florida Building Code) is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with takeoff software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff or similar) and advanced Excel.
- Knowledge of plumbing and MEP systems is a plus.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
- Own computer, reliable internet connection and availability during US Eastern Time business hours.
