What you'll do:
- Manage and execute Moodle upgrades and perform server maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Develop, customize, and modify Moodle plugins to extend platform functionality based on client needs.
- Perform custom development and theme adaptation, aligning the platform with client branding and user experience best practices.
- Implement and manage integrations between Moodle and other third-party applications, such as e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and various Single Sign-On (SSO) protocols.
- Provide technical guidance and support to our internal team and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize PHP-based web applications.
- Create and refine CLI scripts to automate operational tasks and data processes.
- Build custom web applications that act as integration bridges between platforms using APIs or webhooks.
- Integrate third-party systems using APIs, webhooks, and custom middleware.
- Ensure secure and reliable data exchange between platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
- Develop, customize, and maintain Moodle plugins, themes, and integrations, including SSO and data provisioning (users, courses, grades, etc.).
- Customize and integrate LearnWorlds with internal and external systems.
- Implement and maintain LMS themes and UI components.
- Perform Moodle upgrades following best practices and required server configurations.
- Write clear and concise technical documentation.
- Create and configure AWS Lightsail, EC2, or DigitalOcean Droplet instances running Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS).
- Install, configure, and maintain LAMP stacks, Plesk, or cPanel environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Moodle, WordPress, or other PHP applications, including fatal errors and warnings.
- Diagnose and support LAMP configurations and server-level performance issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
What You'll Bring (Requirements):
- Proven experience as a Moodle developer with a strong portfolio focusing on upgrades, plugin development, and integrations.
- Expertise in PHP, MySQL or MariaDB, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, AWS, DigitalOcean or Azure, Troubleshooting technical issues and the Laravel Framework.
- Deep knowledge of the Moodle architecture and API/REST integrations, Webhooks.
- Practical experience with Ubuntu Server CLI.
- Solid understanding of e-learning standards, specifically SCORM and AICC. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and technical troubleshooting skills.
Bonus points:
- Experience with other LMS platforms such as LearnWorlds, Totara, TalentLMS, Blackboard or any other.
- Experience with SCORM and other e-learning standards.
- Strong English communication and organization skills.
- A resourceful, creative, and innovative mindset.
Compensation: For transparency, the salary range for this mid-level role is $3,700,000 COP to $4,800,000 COP per month. The final offer will be based on your specific experience and alignment with the role.
