Position Overview

Vital Consulting SAS is seeking a highly organized and proactive Mechanical Project Engineer to support the execution of mechanical projects with a strong focus on procurement activities, purchase order management, and material delivery coordination.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the materials procurement process, tracking purchase orders, coordinating supplier communications, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, technical understanding of mechanical systems, and the ability to coordinate effectively between engineering, procurement, suppliers, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchase Order Management
- Prepare, review, and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for mechanical equipment, materials, and services.
- Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotations, lead times, and technical documentation.
- Ensure purchase orders comply with project specifications, budgets, and schedules.
- Monitor procurement activities and provide regular status updates to project management.
- Track and maintain procurement records and documentation.
Material Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to project sites and client facilities.
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of purchased items.
- Monitor delivery schedules and identify potential delays or supply chain risks.
- Coordinate logistics and shipment tracking activities.
- Verify delivery documentation and material receiving reports.
- Support inventory and material control processes.
Project Support
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Assist project managers in planning procurement and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to resolve technical and procurement-related issues.
- Support project cost control and budget monitoring efforts.
- Participate in project meetings and progress reviews.
Supplier Management
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Support supplier qualification and selection processes.
- Resolve procurement and delivery issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- English level B2 or more
Experience
- Minimum 1 years of experience in mechanical projects, procurement, project coordination, or supply chain management.
- Experience managing purchase orders and coordinating material deliveries.
- Experience in construction or HVAC is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of mechanical equipment and construction materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with procurement processes and supplier coordination.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with mechanical project scheduling and material tracking systems is an advantage.
