Salary: $3.600.000 COP
About the Role:
The Dispatcher plays a critical role in daily transportation operations by coordinating drivers, routes, and load assignments to ensure efficient and on-time deliveries. This position is responsible for sourcing freight, dispatching drivers, monitoring shipments, maintaining operational records, and minimizing vehicle downtime. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Responsabilities:
Source and book loads through multiple load boards and freight platforms to keep company vans consistently moving.
Dispatch and coordinate drivers throughout the day, including load assignments, pickup and delivery scheduling, and route updates.
Monitor driver activity, shipment progress, ETAs, and service issues in real time.
Negotiate load rates when necessary and verify load details before dispatching.
Maintain driver logs, hours-of-service records, and operational documentation.
Track vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate service appointments when needed.
Communicate delays, service updates, and operational issues with drivers, customers, and management.
Support billing and invoicing processes by collecting PODs, uploading documentation, and ensuring paperwork accuracy.
Provide daily operational reports and performance updates to leadership.
Minimize vehicle downtime by proactively securing loads and optimizing dispatch schedules.
Manage driver onboarding, including collection of licenses, certifications, and required documentation.
Coordinate driver additions and removals with insurance providers.
Calculate driver compensation and collaborate with accounting to ensure timely payments.
Manage company fuel cards, including issuance, usage monitoring, spending limits, and issue resolution.
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, or fleet coordination.
Experience working with load boards such as DAT, Truckstop, Rainier, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of freight terminology, dispatch operations, and transportation workflows.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple drivers and loads simultaneously.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
High attention to detail and strong follow-through with documentation and operational processes.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, dispatch software, and transportation management systems (TMS).
Bilingual English/Spanish.
